bahhumpug: Meditating pug
GUYS!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!
GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT!!!
Dad took me for my follow-up with the surgeon today. Many good things were said! :)
First: he said I’m progressing normally! My stitches have almost dissolved and should be gone in a few days.
Second: he said my breathing is 70% better than it was before (even if Mom had her doubts/worries)! Dudes, that’s a LOT! This is so great. Aaaaaand! If I ever end up needing the trachea surgery, it’ll only be in, like, FIVE YEARS from now!
Third: he said I’m doing good on my weight loss mission but still have a little bit more left to shed. I’m now on weight control kibble until further notice, which is fine by me because it tastes AWESOME!! Also it’s SOLID FOOD, oh my goodness, solid food, how I have missed you.
Fourth: I’m allowed to chew things again!! Hard food, bones, toys, it’s all good! I AM SO PUMPED. I’ve been trying to sneak sticks behind Mom’s back whenever I’m out in the yard because I’ve been so desperate to chew, but now that I can go back to the good stuff, who needs crappy old sticks??
Fifth: no more meds!!! I’m officially off my sedatives, and I only have to take my cough syrup when necessary (like after a barking fit, or if I’m winded) instead of every 8 hours!!
Sixth, and most important: I’m allowed to be a dog again!! :D :D :D YES FOLKS!! I can resume going on walks, running around, playing with toys, wrestling with Roxy, and occasionally barking at suspicious noises!
The whole family is really happy (except for the cats I suppose), and Mom and Dad celebrated by giving me two new toys this morning and even some of my new kibble inside a new Kong! NEW NEW NEW!! I love this!! Unfortunately I’d already had my morning sedative pill with my breakfast, so playing for 30 minutes has really zonked me out… but I’ll feel better by this afternoon. It’s lovely out today and I heard something about being able to go for a WALK later!!
This is the best day!! :D
